Be Part of the Story — Join Our Community and Change Lives in Cape Town
Every community has a story worth telling. In Hanover Park, Cape Town, the story being written right now is one of children learning, young people dreaming, and individuals rebuilding their lives. Dr. Phil-afel Foundation NPC is writing that story — one programme, one family, one life at a time. And we need your community behind us to keep writing it.
We are not a once-off campaign or a social media moment. We are a registered South African nonprofit (NPO #2024/051687/08, PBO #930083356, Section 18A approved) building something permanent in one of Cape Town's most under-resourced communities. Our work is real, our beneficiaries are named, and our impact is documented. If you have ever wanted your social media following to mean something more than likes — this is where it starts.
Three Stories. Three Ways to Help.
Story 1 — The Children of Hanover Park. In a community where early childhood education is chronically underfunded, 57 children aged 2–10 are attending weekly learning sessions through our ECD programme. Trained practitioners use evidence-based frameworks to give these children the cognitive and social foundation that every child deserves. The programme costs R75,000 to sustain through 2026. Share it. Donate to it. Tell someone about it. Every bit of visibility translates directly into funding.
Story 2 — Zacri's Dream. Zacri grew up in Hanover Park with a dream of becoming a chef. He needs support to complete his matric — the qualification that stands between him and his future. This is not an abstract cause. It is one young man, one dream, and a community that can either help it happen or watch it fade. Zacri's story is the kind of story that, when shared, moves people to act.
Story 3 — Gavin's Second Chance. Gavin is rebuilding his life after the correctional system. Community reintegration is hard, often invisible, and chronically underfunded in South Africa. When it fails, communities pay the price. When it succeeds — when someone like Gavin finds stable footing, reconnects with family, and contributes to his neighbourhood — everyone benefits. Your donation funds the support structures that make that possible.
